Welcome to LodgingGuide's hospitality industry listings for the Daytona Beach area.
Named for its real estate mogul founder Mathias Day, Daytona Beach was the former choice of winter residence for John D.
Rockefeller, and still attracts wealthy tourists and snowbirds to its golf courses and 23 miles of shore. At the turn
of the last century, the beaches of densely-packed sand were a popular place to race cars. As the population increased, and
the town became more family oriented, this natural raceway was relegated to a small area of beach where you can still drive
a few yards on the sand, but not race, and it is frequently closed to traffic. Daytona Beach continues its tradition of car
racing now at the Daytona International Speedway, and is the home of the National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing. The
hotels along the beach provide the most breathtaking and unobstructed view of the Atlantic Ocean in Florida.
